Buddhism Wedding Ceremony
Update: 25/05/2017
Today May 25, 2017 (April 30, lunar calendar), Hoang Phap Pagoda holds the Buddhism Wedding Ceremony for the young couple: groom Le Tuan Tai (Religious name: Nhuan Tue Luyen) and bride Le Thi Thuy Trang (Religious name: Nhuan Tue The).
Under the witness of Triratna, families, relatives and friends, the bride and groom perform traditional wedding rituals such as paying homage to Triratna, expressing gratitude to parents’ merit, exchanging wedding rings to each other and taking the oath of marriage as per Buddha’s teachings in Sigalovada Sutra.
Venerable Thich Tam Hue, head of charity department of Hoang Phap Pagoda, on behalf of the clergy witness committee, delivers Dharma talk and marital advises to the groom and bride.
In Buddhism, the spirit of KÃ ya SÃ maggi (six good terms for harmony) has been taught by Buddha for the sustainable development in terms of harmonization and happiness in any community. KÃ ya SÃ maggi includes:
* Peaceful behavior
* Peaceful words to avoid conflict
* Common sense
* Practice together
* Solving problem together
* Sharing benefit together
Adopting the spirit of Kà ya Sà maggi in the family can help create the Home-Sweet-Home with good members fulfilling their roles. Committed spouses listen to, respect and care of each other. Obedient, dutiful children follow elderlies’ guidance. Adults in such family know how to care for and educate their children. Members in the family, following the spirit of Kà ya Sà maggi and the Five Precepts for lay Buddhists, are the good and virtuous ones. A community built with good cells i.e. virtuous, well-to-do families; is the peaceful, developed and prosperous society.
After the Dharma talk, the Venerable offers Buddhism marital certification and wedding gift to the just-married couple.
