Buddha's Birthday Celebration at Lingyin Temple – Taiwan
The ceremony was witnessed and attended by more than 20 monks and nuns studying in Taiwan, Taiwanese - Vietnamese Buddhists working, studying and living in Taiwan, returned to the temple to attend the great ceremony.
Gathering at the main hall, Buddhists listened to monks share about the meaning of taking refuge in the Three Jewels, attending the ceremony. After that, the mass chanted Amitabha sutras, worshiped Buddha, and commemorated the anniversary of Linh An Pagoda's Founder Death.
At lunchtime, the mass offered lunch and offered offerings to the Sangha at present.
Buddha's Birthday is officially celebrated in the afternoon. After welcoming the Sangha to demonstrate, the mass sang the song "Vietnamese Buddhism" together. Next, the mass listened to "The Buddha's Birthday Message, Buddhism calendar 2567 of Dharma Lord of Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha (VBS)"; "The Opening Speech of the Buddha's Birthday of Most President of the Director Board of VBS"…
Next, the people together chanted a sutra and offered food to lonely souls, vowing to bring the benefits to living people and the dead.
Last, the Venerables and the mass performed together to bathe Buddha's newborn statue. At the same time, the Organizers gave small Dharma gifts to Buddhists and took souvenir photos together.
After the end of the Great Ceremony with the motto "Serving sentient beings is practical offering to the Buddhas", the mass brought items divided into 150 gift portions, including: cake, milk, food and an envelope of 100 yen donating to the homeless at Taipei Railway Station (台北車站). Following that is confectionery, milk powder for newborn babies, canned milk, clothes, children's toys, rice noodles, food donated to the Orphanage Center (關愛之家) Van Son area, Taiwan North. In addition, Linh An Pagoda has also practiced good deeds to places that need help thanks to the support from Junior Thich Tam Bien, who is studying in Myanmar.
