Activities in Sri Lanka the Second Day

At 7 am, on May 2nd, 2018 (March 17th, Lunar Calendar), Venerable Thich Chan Tinh and the party monks moved from Colombo to Kandy by train as a new experience in Sri Lanka.
It takes three hours to arrive Kandy. Having arrived, Venerable and the party came to visit the Chief of the Buddhist clergy in a Sri Lanka, Venerable Mahanayaka Thera, and the Vice Chief, Thera Venerable Medagama Dhammananda. Everyone takes chance to pay homage to them, send offering and have some photos of memory. Ven. Thich Chan Tinh, after that, sent his regards to the two venerable and invitation to visit Vietnam one day. On behalf of all the student monks and nuns in Sri Lanka, a deep gratitude has been sent for all the kind support from the two Venerables. Then all people came to visit Mahavihara Maha Pirivena, in Asgiriya, Kandy. The campus supports accommodation for about 400 student monks, but only 175 stay-in. there are two faculties: English and Sinhalese. Each faculty has 12 classes learning about Buddhism and Buddhist languages as Sanskrit, Pali, Sinhalese…for nourishing the talent monks in future. Venerable also asked to make a visual record the living and activities of students here, offer some money and wish they’re healthy for keeping study here.
In the afternoon, Venerable and people visited Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy city. According to Sri-Lankan History, a king from North-east India named Odishahad offered the Buddha Tooth Relic to Sri Lanka for making stupa-worship. Nowadays, the tourists when visiting Srilanka, the tear of Indian Ocean, also visit here as a respect to the Buddha. Inside the stupa, many treasures from different countries set- out for seeing. All contain the marvellousness when we are in.
