With the enthusiastic supports from the sponsors and philanthropists, the Buddy Talent Fund has grown up and created the confidence of students as well as parents for 4 years of its development.

After re[View]ing the applications for the 8th Buddy Talent scholarship, there were totally 452 eligible students being chosen for the award that was worth about VND 1 billion.

Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh, abbot of Hoang Phap pagoda, founder of the Buddy Talent fund, attended and witnessed the ceremony as well as encouraged needy and talented students.

Each scholarship is equivalent to the tuition fee of one semester at the school the student is attending. Although the money is not a huge amount, it represents the kind hearts of many Buddhists and donors, including children from 2 to 9 years old. The money comes from the savings of breakfast expenses, transportation expenses, collecting and selling bottles and scrap-iron. All have been put into the piggy banks for the Buddy Talent Fund to support eligible students.

The scholarships helped release the burden of students in term of school fees. The fund organizer hopes that students will have more encouragement and conditions to complete their studies.

In the event, the Senior Venerable advised the student arranging their time to listen to Dharma talk, sharing from clergy men, as well as motivation talk of life/soft skills in the Retreats that have been regularly held at Hoang Phap pagoda.

In the future, students are the owners of the country, it is not only necessary for them to be good/talented students but also the virtue ones to be able to contribute to the country and benefit themselves at best. It is the great way to express their gratitude to the kind hearts supporting and accompanying them when they need it most.

Besides the scholarship, each student received a Dharma gift including the books “the brief story of Shakyamuni Buddha’s life”, “Dharma saves my life”, "Acknowledging Your Faults and Correcting Them," and "Looking Back" from the organizer.
