Ngo Chan Tu Education Talent Monk Fund

By the guiding of the Abbot of Hoang Phap pagoda; on Oct. 18th, 2022 (Sep. 23rd, LC) Junior Thich Tam Tri, Vice Abbot of the pagoda and monks had a trip to three western provinces, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu and Tra Vinh donated to Buddhist Intermediate Schools/ BIS in these provinces.

The Ngo Chan Tu Education Talent Monk Fund donated to each School with an amount of 50,000,000 (Fifty million dong) and dharma books "Good examples in the East and the West" in the quantity as following: Soc Trang BIS (50 parts), Bac Lieu BIS (70 parts) and Tra Vinh BIS (120 parts).

In the morning, the monks' delegation came to BIS of Soc Trang province at Huong Son pagoda. Welcoming the delegation were Most Thich Thien Thanh, Head of the Director Board/ DB of VietNam Buddhist Sangha/ VBS of Soc Trang Province, Vice Rector and Head of the Sponsoring Board of BIS of Soc Trang Province;  Senior Thich Trung Tuc, Vice Principal cum Head of School Sponsorship Board; Nun Thich Nu Hue Chau, Vice Principal, School Home Affairs; Junior Thich Thien Loc, Deputy Secretary and Chief of the Office of the Soc Trang BIS. The Board of Directors expressed their joy at the monks’ charity and sent their best wishes to Ngo Chan Tu Education Talent Monk Fund to grow and develop.

Next, the monks of Hoang Phap Pagoda led by Junior Thich Tam Tri came to Bac Lieu BIS (Ni branch) at Giac Hoa Pagoda (Bac Lieu Province). Nun Thich Nu Nghiem Thanh, Head of the Director Board of VBS in Bac Lieu province, Vice Rector of Bac Lieu BIS, Abbot of  Giac Hoa Pagoda graciously welcomed Hoang Phap monks. After the donation of the Sangha Scholarship Fund, the monks were invited by the nun to have lunch and take a rest at the temple. The nun said Giac Hoa ancient pagoda (Temple of elderly Nun Hai Ngo) was built in 1920. After being managed by a private house until 2005, Nun Nghiem Thanh took over and officially became the Abbot and built the BIS in 2011.

In the afternoon, the delegation went to Tra Vinh BIS at Luong Xuyen Pagoda (Tra Vinh City) to make an offering.  Monks, School’s Director Board happily welcomed the delegation and received a donation from Hoang Phap Pagoda. On the school side, Most Thich Tri Minh, Member of the Central DB of VBS, Head of the Standing Board and Head of the Buddhist Education Board of VBS in Tra Vinh province, Rector of Tra Vinh BIS of Abbot of Luong Xuyen Pagoda; Junior Thich Minh Do, Head DB of VBS in Tra Vinh province, Vice Principal cum Chief Secretary of Tra Vinh BIS; Junior Thich Thien Hai, Vice Principal and Chief Secretary of Tra Vinh BIS; Junior Thich Tri An, Head Social Charity Department of VBS, Tra Vinh province. The school's professor had a friendly meeting with the monks of Hoang Phap pagoda on the occasion of this donation.

On behalf of the school's Director Board, the Most Principal sent deep gratitude to Most Master of Hoang Phap Pagoda who has always cared for the school. According to the Most Principal, Luong Xuyen pagoda was the first Buddhist School in the country in the 1930s, the place where the Buddhist reform of the Patriarchs, such as Most Khanh Anh, Most Khanh Hoa... Cultivated moral force; thanks to the Hoang Phap Pagoda 's support, the temple 's education in Tra Vinh has continued and developed with the desire to train talented monks, benefit the life of the religion and the nation.
