9th Awarding Ceremony of Buddy-Talent Scholarship

With the enthusiastic support from sponsors, Buddy Talent Fund after being formed four years ago, has developed and got the trust in students and parents.

After receiving and re[View]ing applications from candidates, based on program criteria, there are totally 371 eligible cases with the total amount of VND 876,000,000.

Attending the event, Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh, Abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda, founder of the Fund, has delivered a motivation talk to students.

Scholarship receivers are students in needs/ difficult circumstances. Each scholarship is equivalent to tuition fee of one semester that student has to pay to the university. The amount, though not so large, is the kindness and belief from sponsors including children from 2 to 9 years old. The fund is collected from savings, breakfast money, selling bottles and scrap iron; transportation expense... All have been put into cute piggy banks to contribute to the fund for Buddy talented students.

Today young generation is the owner of the country in the future. Monks, renunciants, do not ignore young generation in secular world but always care, help, support them fulfilling the dreams and contributing to the country. Despite the amount is large or small, it is the heart and kindness from the mass.

The fund has got lots of loving kindness and donation from sponsors but the collected amount is not enough for many philanthropic activities of the fund. In such situation, monks and Buddhists of Hoang Phap ashram have opened a canteen and sold clean coffee product (i.e. without using chemical in producing process) to serve Buddhists, visitors. All the income from these businesses will be donated to the fund. Trading is not an easy task but everyone does it with joys to serve sentient beings, especially young students. Via the sharing, the Senior Venerable wants everyone understanding the heart of sponsors who are ready to lend their hands helping students when they need it most. Hope that students will try the best to reach bright future and build a better country.

Besides the scholarship, each student receives Dhamma gift including Huong Phap Magazine, and book "O Doi Vui Dao" written by Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh

The event also includes a comedy "Chuyen Ba Tam" with the contribution from baby actress Mai Vy.
