The rite of donating Shakyamuni Buddha statue to Dang Phap Pagoda

On May 12th, 2021 (April 01st, Year of Buffalo), Junior Thich Tam Hue, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Quang as Abbot of Dang Phap Pagoda and Buddhists of Hoang Phap Pagoda made a rite for completing Buddha statue at Doan Phi wooden sculpture workshop in Gia Lai.

At Dang Phap Pagoda, monks and Buddhists chanted Dhammapada sutra and recited the Buddha’s name   in the morning to pray for Dang Phap temple to soon become a spiritual place for Buddhists everywhere to return practice.

The ceremony began with lighting incense to the Buddha. After that, Junior Thich Tam Hue, Monks of Hoang Phap Pagoda made a pure rite. Monks and Buddhists recited Great Compassion mantra and ten mantra and recited Buddha name which prayed for the statue to be completed soon.

It is known the Buddha statue will be carved about 5 high meters, 7 tons, the material of Doussie wood is sculpted by National Artist Doan Van Phi at Gieo Sesk village, Dua commune, Chu Se district, Gia Lai province. This object began at July 23rd, 2020

At that previous opening, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue had donated 360,000,000 VND. After nearly 10 months, the Buddha statue was completed with the cost of 550 million VND.This statue was offered by some Buddhists to Dang Phap pagoda which is charged by Junior Thich Tam Quang as the Abbot.

In this rite, Junior Thich Tam Hue had an additional donation of 190,000,000 VND for the adequate of 550 million VND. He expressed his gratitude to the monks and Buddhists for chanting, reciting Buddha's name, praying for the statue to be completed soon.

This chance, he gave some dharma gifts to Buddhists and local residents, including some books: “60-year essential memories of Senior Thich Chan Tinh", “A brief Introduction of Hoang Phap monastery”, “Muddy pond”, “Lessons for Kid."

The statue of Buddha Shakyamuni Buddha is enshrined in the main hall of Dang Phap pagoda so that Buddhists everywhere can watch and kowtow.
