The beginning rite to sculpt the Buddha statue offering to Đang Phap Pagoda

On July 23rd, 2020 (June 03rd, Year of Mouse), Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Quang, Buddhists of Hoang Phap Pagoda and Dang Phap Pagoda had a rite carving the Buddha statue at Doan Phi wooden Buddha sculpture workshop in Gia Lai.

The ceremony began with the rite of lighting incense to the Buddha. After that, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue, the Monks of Hoang Phap Pagoda made a pure rite around, the Monks and Buddhists recited Great Compassion mantra and ten mantra, and recited the Buddha name which prayed for the statue to be completed soon.

It is known the Buddha statue will be carved about 5 high meters, 7 tons, the material of Doussie wood is sculpted by National Artist Doan Van Phi at Gieo Sesk village, Dua commune, Chu Se district, Gia Lai province.

The estimated time of completion will be on Dec. 31st, 2020 with a total budget of 550 million VND. The Buddha statue offered by some Buddhists to Dang Phap pagoda is charged by Junior Thich Tam Quang as the Abbot.

During the ceremony, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue has donated the amount of 360,000,000 VND in the total cost and lacks 190,000,000 VND. We hope all Buddhists, Donors at home and abroad to make offerings.

At the finishing of the rite, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue expressed his gratitude to the monks and Buddhists for chanting, reciting Buddha's name, praying for the statue to be completed soon.

This chance, he gave some dharma gifts to Buddhists and local residents, including some books: “60-year essential memories of Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh, “A brief Introduction of Hoang Phap monastery”, “Muddy pond”, “Lessons for Kids"

On the same day, Delegation had a tour to visit Minh Thanh pagoda at 348, Nguyen Viet Xuan street, city. Pleiku.

Previously, on July 24th, 2020 (June 4th, LC), the delegation came to Dang Phap Pagoda to chant verses of dharma, recite the Buddha's name and pray for the temple to be completed as soon as hoped.

After having breakfast, the group had a trip to release creatures at Bu Dang irrigation dam, Duc Phong town, Bu Dang. After that, the delegation visited the construction work at Dang Phap Pagoda.
