The beginning rite to sculpt the Buddha statue

On the morning of Jan. 02nd, 2020 (lunar Dec. 08th, the year of the Pig), Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue, the Monks and Buddhists of Hoang Phap Pagoda, came Bon Pagoda to start the rite carving the Buddha statue.

The ceremony began with the rite of lighting incense to the Buddha. After that, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Thuc, the Monk of Hoang Phap Pagoda made a pure rite. Next, the Monks recited Great Compassion mantra, which prayed for the statue to be completed soon.

It is known the Buddha statue will be carved about to 5 high meters, 4 tons, the material of Doussie wood is sculpted by National Artist Quoc Bao. The estimated time of completion is able to end of the year of the Rat with a total budget of 700 million VND. The Buddha statue would be offered by three Buddhists to Bon Pagoda in Nghe An, where Junior Ven. Thich Tam Due is the Abbot.

At the finishing of the rite, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue expressed his gratitude to the monks and Buddhists for chanting, reciting Buddha's name, praying for the statue to be completed soon.

On the same day, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue, the Monks and Buddhists at Hoang Phap Pagoda who came to Ms. Hoai Phuong's family to pray for rebirth for Mrs. Dang Thi Huyen (Dharma Name Dieu Chon) passed away on Oct. 20th, the pig year, lived a life  93 year old in Ward 11, Tan Binh District, praying for her soul to be born early on the peaceful realm of Amitabha Buddha.
