The beginning rite to sculpt the Buddha statue

On the morning of May 10th, 2019 (lunar Apr. 06th, the year of the Pig), Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue, the Monks and Buddhists of Hoang Phap Pagoda have started the rite to carve Buddha statues.

The ceremony began with the rite of lighting incense to offer the Buddha. After that, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Trong, Deputy Abbot of the Hoang Phap Pagoda made a pure rite, the Monks recited the “Dai Bi” mantra, which prayed for the statue to be completed soon.

It is known that the Buddha statue about to be carved 6 meters high, weighs 4 tons, the material of Doussie wood is sculpted by National Artist Le Van Chung. The estimated time of completion is able to end of the year of the Pig, with a total budget of VND 700 million. A Buddhist would like to offer this Buddha statue to Dong Cao Pagoda  in Thanh Hoa, where Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hung is the Abbot.

At the finishing of the rite, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue sent his gratitude to the monks and Buddhists for chanting, reciting Buddha's name, praying for the statue to be completed soon.
