On July 031st, 2022 of One - Day Practice at Hoang Phap pagoda, monks and Oncology Club assisted 42 patients of Cancer Hospital gathering at the pagoda to attend the Retreat.

After the breakfast, all practitioners gathered at Dome house to begin reciting Buddha's name, walking meditation and chanting precepts.

In response to the invitation of the retreat, Ven Thich Nu Nhu Lan, Abbot of Hung Thien pagoda had a dharma talk named Methods of filial piety according to Buddhism.

The nun mentioned about the responsibility of a child, who should wholeheartedly serve and care for his parents in adequate material (nurturing); These caring actions need to come from a heart of love and respect for parents (filial piety). We need to guide and help our parents to stay in good dharma, study Buddhadharma, respect and believe in the Three Jewels to live a happy and good life (filial piety).

After reciting the Buddha name in the afternoon, Buddhists practiced sitting meditation quietly.

Before leaving, Junior Thich Tam Hue gave 42 gifts to patients. Each gift includes an envelope of 100,000 VND and 10 (packs) of vegetarian noodles (new novice Thich Tam Hac and Ms Phuong Ngoc 's the support). The total amount of support t is 5,460,000 VND.

 He praised the patients' difficult overcoming, although the body was sick but the mind was not, returned to the pagoda to cultivate. He advises patients to take refuge in Three Jewels, diligently recite Buddha's name, study and practice Buddha's teachings, then we will have a peaceful and happy life.

By the way, Ven Thich Tam Hue gave gifts of the pagoda to patients, including books: Good examples in the East and West, Repayment the merit of parents, Lessons for Buddhists.

The gift is small, but all patients felt gratitude for givers, because there are still many people helping to share, love and motivate them overcoming the disease.
