Offering the Three Jewels at Co Am Pagoda, Nghe An

On May 2nd, 2022 (April 2nd, LC), the charity delegation from Hoang Phap Pagoda had a trip to make offerings to the Three Jewels at Co Am Pagoda, Minh Chau Commune, Dien Chau District, Nghe An, managed by Junior Abbot Thich Tam Thanh.

Junior Thich Tam Thanh - Member of Central Dharma Promotion Committee, Chief Secretary and Head of International Buddhist Committee in Nghe An Province, Abbot of Co Am Pagoda, Phuc Lac Pagoda, being born in a family with Buddhist tradition, had a will to study religion. With the acceptance of his parents in 2000, he left Nghe An province and entered Hoang Phap Pagoda in HCMC.

 After a probationary period, he was agreed to ordain by Most Thich Chan Tinh, Head of Hoang Phap pagoda in 2001. After many years of study and relying on the grace of the Most Master, he was allowed to work as a Master attendant, following in Master footsteps on affair trips at home and abroad. This is the time to accumulate valuable experiences to prepare for the path of practice. After completing the Buddhist program, in trust by his brothers and Master, he was elected as Deputy Abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda.

 Approved by the Most Master, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Thanh officially returned to his homeland to propagate dharma on Sep. 8th, 2011 as the Abbot of Co Am Pagoda. The monk began to build temporary houses, set up ashrams, and organize retreats for people to study according to dharma. From a wild land to this today, a dignified pagoda has been built. Starting a group of several dozen Buddhists, there are now 39 ashrams with more than 20,000 followers. On Dec. 5th, 2013, he was concurrently the Abbot of Phuc Lac Pagoda. He also established a pagoda, expanded the campus and built the largest Buddha statue of Shakyamuni in the North Central region. On Dec. 23rd, 2013, Junior Thich Tam Thanh started the construction and restoration of the Co Am pagoda on a large scale. In June 2017, the pagoda completed phase 1 with the works planned into a closed complex.

Every day, the temple has an evening chanting session with about 100 people. Every month, the temple organizes catechism class, Buddhist recitation courses, summer retreats, summer learning classes, Karate martial arts classes... In addition, the pagoda also set up a fund "Supporting The Footsteps Of Talents" at high schools in the province.

 The delegation was guided by a Co Am pagoda monk to visit the temple scene from the main gate to Upper hall, located in the middle of the mountain, then to Nhu Y cave at the top of the mountain. From here, along the mountainside to the statue of Three-sided Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and return Lower hall.

 The delegation donated money and items to the Three Jewels. Buddhists represented in the group offered a speech, performed the traditional Buddha bathing ritual.

 Junior Ven. Thich TamThanh sincerely thanked Hoang Phap pagoda 's Most Master for taking care of the pagoda and the people in Nghe An.

 Representative of the charity group, Junior ThichTam Hue praised the merit, had a few words to Junior Thich Tam Thanh and the Support Board of Co Am pagoda, had a mind to propagate the dharma, which is the start for the temples in Dien Chau district to build and develop in the future.

 Junior Thich Tam Thanh praised the spirit of Dharma protection of Buddhists and hoped them diligently to practice Buddha's teachings, cultivate morality, effective Dharma protectors, and live a peaceful life.
