Freeing creatures on Van Phat yacht in Can Tho

On June 22nd, 2019 (lunar May 20th, the year of the Pig), Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue, monks and 120 Buddhists of Hoang Phap Pagoda arrived the ferry of Van Phat Restaurant in Ninh Kieu, Can Tho to free creatures.

After reciting Buddha's name for supporting, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue, monks and Buddhists carry out the rite of freeing these beings. The Master chanted doctrine, took refuge on Three Jewel, recited Buddha's name and released them on the Hau River.

Junior Ven. Thich Phap Dang shared the Dharma with the subject “The Benefits of Vegetarian Eating and Releasing animals”. According to Junior Ven. shared when releasing animals will increase good heart, longevity; avoid wars and have all good thing.

Junior Ven. also stated seven cases that should not kill animals on occasions, such as: on birthdays, at giving a child, the days of wedding or party, day of praying peace and in trade. In addition to not killing, he advised us to practice vegetarianism, recite the Buddha's name, make good deeds, prevent bad actions, repent of evils karma, make alms and offerings, take care of family members, treat all people well.

Nearly an hour of sharing, with easy-to-understand way of teaching, real-life stories with real people, Junior Ven. brought full of applause and laughter to the mass.

Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue, Head of Charity Board at the Hoang Phap Pagoda reported on the results of freeing animals and charity in the first six months in 2019. He gave dharma gifts to Van Phat restaurant staff and Buddhists to accompany  with him.

The ceremony was full of joy in the joy of the mass.
