Charity towards the central region of Dong Cao Pagoda

During the 3 days of Oct. 17-19th, 2020 (from Sep. 1st to 3th, year of mouse), Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hung, Abbot of Dong Cao Pagoda in Thanh Hoa organized a charity trip to support flood-affected people in the central provinces of Vietnam and Thua Thien Hue where is the most affected.

In response to the open letter from Junior Abbot of Dong Cao Pagoda, the local government, Sangha of Việt Nam Buddhist, benefactors, Junior Ven.Thich Tam Hy - a monk studying abroad in Korea, Buddhists and monks of the pagoda organized a volunteer trip to share love and difficulties with people in communes and districts in Thua Thien Hue province.

The delegation awarded more than 200 gift portions with the amount of 100,000,000 VND. Each portion includes an envelope of 300,000 VND, 10kg of rice, 1 liter of cooking oil, 1kg of sugar, 350g of MSG and a book of Buddha's teachings respectively to the locations:

1. Hamlet La Ỷ, Tay Tri Nhon Village, Phu Thuong Commune, Phu Vang District

2. Thanh Phuoc Hamlet, Huong Phong Commune, Huong Tra District

3. My Xa Hamlet, Quang An Commune, Quang Dien District

4. Bau Hamlet, Phong Chuong Commune, Phong Dien District.

The delegation also visited and shared with flooded families in La Ỷ village, Phu Thuong commune, Phu Vang district and gave five gift portions with the amount of 5,000,000 VND. Each of them included a 1,000,000 VND envelope and a book of Buddha's teachings to five families. After 15 years of studying far away from his hometown, he gave gifts to relatives in the Vo Ba clan, where he was born to help people overcome the effects of floods in this time.

At each place of giving gifts, Junior Thich Tam Hung had a few words to share, encourage and guide people to cause good deeds, stay away from evil deeds to transform their own karma and the surrounding environment.

Hopefully, everyone will soon overcome this difficult period to continue building a prosperous and happy life, contributing to building a thriving country and a lasting religion.
