Charity program four days, four nights in Quang Ngai

(From August 4th to August 8th, 2020. Lunar June 15th to June 18th)

Dear laymen, laywomen and Buddhists!

Receiving the opening letter from Junior Ven. Thich Thong Truc, Abbot of Thien Phuoc Pagoda in Quarter 3, Mo Duc town in Quang Ngai, Ba To is a mountainous district, located to the southwest, away from the city  Quang Ngai is about 60 km. This is one of the poor districts with a natural area of 1,138,060 km2, a population of 61,000 people of which the Hre ethnic group accounts for 84%. The district consists of 20 communes, towns, terrain and rugged mountains. There are many communes where people are still very poor, many villages are located on high mountains so the dry season often lacks serious water. From March to August, water is not enough for cooking and living, people have to carry water from far away from ponds, lakes, rivers and streams to have water for temporary use.

Understanding the suffering of residents who lack water for living, the Charity Board of Hoang Phap Pagoda helped to drill wells to find underground water for Bui Ngui village, Ba Trang, Ba To, Quang Ngai communes being necessary and urgent. In addition, the charity delegation of Hoang Phap Pagoda also supported money to build houses for monks to live and study, donate gifts and money to the Three Jewels of Thien Phuoc pagoda and then donated 200 gifts to Hre poor ethnic people.

On the way to Quang Ngai, the delegation will stop in Nha Trang to make offerings. Vinh Phap Pagoda is managed by Junior Ven Thich Tam Dac and has a trip releasing creatures at Nha Trang beach.

The total amount going to charity and releasing is about 300,000,000 VND.

The program goes as following:

1. August 4, 2020 (June 15, LC)

- 4:00 am: Gathering in front of soul stupa (HoangPhap Pagoda), listening to an announcement of the trip route from Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue, head of the charity program.

- 05:00 am: From Hoang Phap Pagoda move to Nha Trang.

-15:00 pm: Arrive in Nha Trang, Freeing creatures at Nha Trang beach.

- 17:00 pm: Get on the bus to Vinh Phap pagoda which is managed by Junior Ven. Thich Tam Dac, offer to Three Jewels, then have dinner and rest.

- 21:00 pm: Get on the bus to Quang Ngai.

2. August 5th, 2020 (June 16th, LC)

- 7:00 am: Arrive at Bui Ngui village, Ba Trang, Ba To, Quang Ngai communes to offer money for making water wells with the money 60,000,000 VND  and give 100 gift portions to 100 Hre ethnic households,  with the money is 35,000,000 VND.

-10:00 am: offerings of money and almsgiving to the Three Jewels of Thien Phuoc Pagoda, offering money to build houses for monks, 100 gift ones to 100 poor Hre households is 350,000 VND.

- 11h:00 am: Have lunch at Thien Phuoc pagoda.

- 14h00 pm: Visit the Quang Ngai city.

- 17h00 pm: Have dinner.

- 18h00 pm: Practice in afternoon at Thien Phuoc Pagoda. Junior Ven. Thich Thong Truc will preach Dharma to Buddhists in the Charity Board of Hoang Phap Pagoda.

- 21h:00 pm: take a rest.

3. August 6th, 2020 (June 17th, LC)

- 4:00 am: Practice in morning at Thien Phuoc pagoda.

- 6:00: am: Have breakfast at Thien Phuoc pagoda.

- 7:00: am: Return to Hoang Phap Pagoda.
