Charity and releasing in the Western

In the morning of Dec.18th, 2016 (Nov.11th, Monkey Year) the charity group of Hoang Phap Pagoda arrived in the West to buy animals for release and gave gifts at the Center of Social Sponsoring.

The group bought 3.6 tons of catfish,snake-headed fish,frogs,eels, etc. and after being blessed, these animals were freed to the nature. Next, the monks performed the ritual of water ashes burial of the two group members’ dead relatives.

In the afternoon of same day, the group came to the Social Sponsoring Center at Hung Loi Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City. Here, the group visited and gave gifts, cakes, essential items to 100 children exposed to agent orange and orphans who are sponsored by the Center. The total value of the gifts is36.340.000VN dong. Looking at the unfortunate, disabled children playing happily innocently, we deeply felt that how happy those with six senses intact are!

We ourselves are human beings, but thanks to past and present blessings we attain unimpaired body, wisdom, have access to Buddha dharma while many others around us still suffer disabledness, handicap, blindness, deafness and dumbness . They may be unlucky enough to approach Buddha dharma. Therefore, when we‘ve faced obstacles or sufferings, we should look down to see that there are still many people who are more unfortunate and miserable than us, thereby recognizing that we are still lucky. Make more effort in life and try to live a beneficial and meaningful life to deserve what we have as well as become a useful person for Buddhism and the society.
