The Eager of peaceful life celebrating at Giai Lam Pagoda – Ha Tinh Province
Thursday morning, Feb 2nd 2012 (falls on Lunar January in Dragon Year), Thich Chan Tinh Venerable has come to Giai Lam Pagoda – Ha Tinh Province for attending the eager of peaceful life ceremony, it’s the finally destination of his Buddhistical activities in Southern area.
Giai Lam Pagoda is in Thach Tan Commune, Ha Tinh Province, that located in even and flat area with 3 hecta. It’s in beside South – North Highway, distance from Ha Tinh Province about 3km.
To know this is the first year, Thich Tam Phong Venerable take his responsibility at the ancient Pagoda and it’s also the first year, the eager of peaceful life celebrate. There are about 1,500 Buddhists in over place and the many inhabitants in this area had gathered this Pagoda give to Venerable in New Year’s greeting and attend this celebrating when hearting Thich Chan Tinh Venerable comes here.
With the consent of and the support of local authorities, on the day of eager of peaceful life celebrating, the ground breaking for construction of Bodhisattva statue at Giai Lam Pagoda.
This statue is expecting about 6 meters, it will be the biggest statue in Ha Tinh Province. With the favourable area and there are the local authorities supporting and the also euthusiatic supporting of Ha Thanh Construction Company, so all of items in pagoda design general will be built in this year.
Although, the weather is quite cold but the ceremony is still taken the Buddhists faithful solemn. After talking from Ven Thich Tam Phong, he emphasized about meaning of this temple building.
Temple is an ethical environment to teach people for getting good life, especially for young people. So we need to support our children to come temple, to attend at the short retreating as well as giving them opportunity to learn Buddhist tenets. It help them to get better about their outlook on life.
The “Du Hoa” VCD gift and one red envelop for present of New Year were given to all people. All of people feel very happy. The celebrating on New Year was organized complete success.
