Different from daily schedule of cultivation, today Buddhists got up at 2:30 to prepare for the special labour time of Buddha recitation. Under instruction of noble masters in BO, Buddhists fast stabilized in solemn order.

Three peals of prajna bell and drum rang to welcome masters and monks to get to the Pearl Buddha temple. In the quiet early morning sound of praying resounded warmly. All Buddhists of the Way Place sat slightly, beginning the labour of recitation. Profound sutra said about great resolution and practice of the Buddha Shakyamuni in the introduction of surangama mantra, which made everyone moved and pleased. With extreme respect the whole Way Place recited to single-mindedness the holy name “Namo Shakyamuni” continually in 30 minutes, embodying deep gratitude towards precious teaching and his untired career of saving of the world.

After that, all of the retreat participants purified their mind and listened to “The meaning of honored pearl statue of Buddha” through emotional voice of the announcer in harmony with strong and moving secret Tibetan Dharani. Thanks to that, Buddhists knew the process of establishment and excellent hetu-pratyaya to create this statue.

Beside the meaning of honoring of Tathagata’s great resolution and practice, the ceremony also brought to the message of world peace, praying for beings’ happiness and everything to their liking.

The celebration happened in an hour, but participants’ emotion and feelings were undescribable.
