In response to the invitation of Junior Ven. Thich Tam Tinh, abbot of Tieu Dao pagoda, Junior Ven. Thich Dao Quang had a talk with the mass on the subject of Self-sufficient. In his words, not only young people need to be self-sufficient and independent, but also older people need to be self-sufficient.

- The first is self-sufficient in money. When the one have not self-sufficient in money, if in need to ask the relatives is very difficult, because the relatives are not available every time to help. Therefore, people need to "keep" a little for supply own-self when in need to use. However, we should understand when keeping it as a little part to support own-self being different from containing it redundancy to satisfy. As accumulating for greed, we will be suffering once it is lost.

- The second is self-sufficient for transportation. If we know how to ride a car, we should go by ourselves, should not disturb our offspring causing trouble for them.

- The third is self-sufficient for life. In life, if we can do it our self, should do it our self, it will help us be agile, less dependent.

In addition, practitioners must know "self-sufficient to cultivate". We have to self "recite" and self "cultivate" ourselves instead of thinking waiting until death will ask someone to come and pray for us. Each person's self-cultivation is a practice of compassion and wisdom in Buddhism. At that time, we practice unlimited and indistinguishable mercy  in the spirit of the four words "fearlessness and compassion" of the Great Compassion Mantra and in the Prajnaparamita Sutra (Enlightened wisdom), there are four words "Ma-ha Bat-nha" show great wisdom. When we believe deeply in causally, know right and wrong judgments, we no longer blame one person, blame the other.

Next, it is the penitential time instructed by the Master Abbot.
