Attending of the ceremony were Thich Phuoc Dung, the abbot of Vinh Hiep Pagoda, Monks and Buddhists of Hoang Phap Pagoda and Buddhists of Vinh Hiep pagoda.

Before entering the ceremony, it was the time of reciting the Buddha's name. During the ceremony, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Quyet shared the Dharma with the theme "The purpose of going to the pagoda". The purpose is to study the dharma and cultivate. Beside studying the dharma and practicing, we still do merit. Chanting is to read the teachings of the Buddha, reflect ourselves, train the body and mind, cultivate virtue, and make the three karma purified. Promoting the body and mind means tying our bodies and mind, restraining desires, helping three karma clean. The tied up is reflected in our meditation, Buddha recitation, Buddha praying, and our cultivating. Volunteer one is to support things in the pagoda to create merit such as donation for Buddha construction, repairing the pagoda, taking care of plants, watering plants, cleaning the main hall, cooking, washing dishes, making CD disk and DVD  disk, sewing clothes, and selling canteen.

When we come to the pagoda, we should leave out all the problems of life in order to focus on cultivation to get happy smiles and moments of relaxation and peace. At the pagoda, we are given answers of questions that we cannot find  before. Thank to this, we get understanding rightly, and then we could deeply know in the causes and effects, learn and practice Buddha's teachings to self-resolve the suffering for ourselves.

After the dharma talk, it was time to the precepts as usual.

The Retreat of Eight Precepts was successful and joyful for everyone.

Thank you to the Donators, Mr. Hung's family, Miss Xoan, Chanh Hien Tue, the Buddhists in Vietnam and foreign countries contributed for the trip to be successful.
