Giving gifts to oncology patients attending the retreat and praying for rebirth in Hoc Mon.

Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue and the Buddhists in the Charity Board at Hoang Phap Pagoda, donated 100 gifts to oncology patients to the one day year-end retreat of the Pig Year on Dec. 29th, 2019 (lunar Dec. 4th, year of the pig).

The delegation presented 60 gifts for patients with severe cases. Each gift with the donation is 415,000 VND including 400,000 VND/ envelope, 1 necklace of Buddha, 1 string of beads. The total money is 24,900,000 VND. With 40 gift portions for patients with mild cases. Each portion gift is 165,000 VND, including 1 envelope 150,000 VND, 1 necklace of Buddha, 1 string of beads. The total amount is 6,600,000 VND. The total money of charity is 31,500,000 VND, meanwhile Hoang Phap pagoda had supported 30,000,000 VND and the Charity Board was 1,500,000 VND.

In the afternoon the group chanted to pray rebirth for the soul of Nguyen Van Cau (dharma name Tinh Chau) in Dong Thanh, Hoc Mon, passed away on Dec. 27th, 2019 (on Dec. 2nd, lunar the year of the pig) lived 80 years old.

During the ceremony, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hue had condolences with bereaved family. He advised the family to be vegetarian, recite the Buddha's name, recite sutra, do all the merit to dedicate for the soul soon be born in the peaceful realm of Amitabha Buddha.

On this occasion, Monks gave gift portions of dharma to the family, including the books "Lessons for Kids", "Retribution for killing creatures".
